We write:for 5 minutes flat, no editing, no tweaking or self-critiquing.
Today's word is 'After'.
Start..
After - A New Era
Cross empty
All over
Tomb empty
Sin defeated
Broken lives made new
Yet...it all takes time
Scars remain from damaged bodies, hearts and minds
After-effects linger on
After-shocks of abuse and trauma
cannot be fully erased here
cannot be fully erased here
though we wish they could
We live in the After Zone
the 'here-but not-here-yet' of the Kingdom.
Not a disaster zone
He is here
We have Love, Life, Hope
We have His Spirit
We have His Grace
changing us from glory to glory.
changing us from glory to glory.
We are Resurrection People
We are those who came after the 12
Disciples following our Lord and Master
One Day...
there will be a New Era
after all has passed.
Christ will return in glory
A new Dawn
Then...
there will be no more tears or pain
for they'll be former things passed away.
Rainbows after rain
Sweetness after pain
Fullness of Joy in His Presence
I can't wait for that 'Happy Ever After' day to come
when He sees us
and we see Him as He Is
and we see Him as He Is
Are you ready?
Stop
Do hop over and join in the fun!

Hello my friend. I should be asleep, but I had to come over to see what you wrote first. There's so much pain, but so much victory and beauty--Amen! I can't wait until He comes back either -- I think soon. Love and Prayers & Hugs

Indeed, Lois! Thank you for your lovely comment and kind concern. My health is improving a little now after months of relapsing. The Spring weather and sunshine help enormously! Every blessing to you too :)xx

DeleteJoy,
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful image of living in the in-between time. The partial completion of His kingdom where pain lingers. Oh for the day of His return. And yet I am torn, for I love the time I have here to be His vessel of hope.
Hi Chris. Great to see you here! We are certainly torn as we want to fulfill God's purpose for us here, yet we yearn for Christ's return. There is always much work to be done. Though the thought of His coming back spurs us on all the more. Thank you for your lovely comment. Every blessing in Him. :)x
DeleteSo beautiful and encouraging !!!
ReplyDeleteHi Amy. Thank you for encouraging me with your comment! Bless you :)x
DeleteOh yes. The sense of here-but-not-here and the longing for the days when there's no self-consciousness, no pain, no confusion, no moods, no eggshells to walk on, no loneliness, no fear...
ReplyDeleteThank you. I don't know anyone else who can capture a feeling like you.
I love the way you have elaborated on the list of things we will be happy to relinquish in the 'Hereafter', Helen. You have made my few words into so much more. Thank you! Blessings :) xx
DeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteTo the point, articulate and very interesting,
